*Why would anyone choose a Pre-Assembled Lapbook?  Doesn't that take all of the fun out of it??

Pre-Assembled Lapbooks are not for everyone. That is why we offer many formats.  The Pre-Assembled ones are for the moms who have no desire to cut, fold, and glue.  (There are moms out there like that.)  I feel like it is important to be able to minister to all types of moms.  I know that there have been times when I was not feeling well (I have Multiple Sclerosis), but my daughter loved lapbooks and wanted to do another one.....so I let her use a pre-assembled one.  The result was still that my daughter had a great experience filling in the booklets, and she can still remember specific information from those lapbooks....even though they were pre-assembled.  Children are very visual.......and when the booklets have pictures on them or are printed on colored paper......or are folded in a creative way........those things will stimulate memory.....EVEN if the child didn't actually put the booklets together themselves.  We don't use the Pre-Assembled formats a lot....but they are nice for when "the going gets tough" or when mom gets burned out.  Also, a lot of moms who have never seen a lapbok like to order this format to give them a "jump start."

*Will you be adding more lapbooks to your product list?

YES!  We are currently working on the following subjects for lapbooks: Christian Classical History Series (Chronological History Lapbooks), Many Games Lapbooks, Advanced Math Lapbooks, Parts of Speech,  More Interview Series (Grandparents, Veterans, etc), Shapes & Colors (Pre K-1st), Numbers & Alphabet (Pre-K-1st), Frogs & Toads, Insects, Human Body, Weather, U.S. Presidents, Nutrition, Apologia Science Lapbook (will be completed), American Girl (TM) Series Lapbooks), Pre-School Series and MORE! If you have suggestions or requests, please let us know!!

*What is the difference between the E-Book and the CD-Rom?

The E-Book and CD-Rom contain the same information.  However, with the CD-Rom, you have a nice "hard copy" to put on your shelf for future use. Also, you have easy access to the lapbook files, in case you need to make multiple copies.

*  What ages are appropriate for your lapbooks?

One of the great things about lapbooks is their ability to cross the age barriers. Our lapbooks are primarily designed for Elementary and Middle School children. However, by requiring your children to do the research on their own and use more detail in filling in the booklets, most could be adapted for a hands-on High School student as well. We are working on a more sophisticated lapbooking styled product for the High School Level.

* Are your materials copyrighted?

Yes. All of our material is copyrighted. No copies are to be made without expressed permission from Knowledge Box Central.

* What would you suggest for someone new to lapbooking?

First, I would probably get one of the Lapbooking Starter Kits. This would allow you to see and touch many of the folds that are popular in lapbooking. They come with the folders and folded booklets....you just add the information and the glue! Or, you could order a pre-assembled format so that you could see exactly how "it all comes together."  Also, the Dinah Zikes books are great for picking up some great ideas for folds.!

* Which curricula do your history lapbooks coordinate with?

We have specifically customized material for Tapestry of Grace, but these are not our only lapbooks.  We also have  Notebooking Pages, and CopyWork Notebooks which go right along with other Classical Curricula, such as Story of the World, Mystery of History, Sonlight, Charlotte Mason, and others. The timeline eras are relatively the same with emphasis by the curriculum producers. We are currently in the process of writing customized lapbooks for the remainder of the Apologia Science series and American Girl Series.

*Where are you offering Seminars and Workshops?

Workshops are being scheduled pretty much nationwide based on availability of a Knowledge Box representative in the area or feasibility to put on a full seminar, just give us a call and we can discuss your needs.

* How Many copies can I make from the CD's and E-Books?  I belong to a Co-op and we would like to be able to make copies to cut costs.

It is our policy to allow, under our copyright, families to feel free to create as many copies as they need for their family household without giving freedom to distribute to other families or friends for free or for profit. If Aunt Millie and her 9 children are living in your home, then God bless you and copy away. Our copyright is to protect our intellectual property that we consider to have value as any real property. That is pretty much it. Thank you for your integrity in asking yourself these types of questions. As for a co-op, we ask that each family purchase their own copy of the product.  You may also choose to purchase the "co-op" license for the ebook or cd, which allows for copies to be made for each co-op student.
